We want to improve the standards of living for all of our members. The benefits of an organized work force allow the fair bargaining arena for all of the unorganized. Position and commit to a world wide service that allows all members to have equal access to the information highway and to educate our members to vote in their own best interests and to build community coalitions at the national and local levels to support worker’s rights.

CWA is America’s largest communications and media union, representing over 700,000 men and women in both private and public sectors, including over half a million who are building the information highway.

Most CWA members work in professional, technical, customer service and office support occupations. They are employed in telecommunications, journalism, broadcasting and cable TV, high tech, airlines an electronics manufacturing, as well as government service, health care and education fields.

The union includes some 1,200-chartered local unions across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Members live in approximately 10,000 communities, making CWA one of the most geographically diverse unions.
